Question code

anyone know what a 1518 check engine light code is?
and if you do what do I have to buy and install to correct it.
Not just turn it off, I know how to do that. I need a fix so it doesn't happen again.

cool thanks a lot. At least I know what the code is know all I need to find out is how to fix it. I'm thinking it must be some kind of elect. control moduel or something that keeps it open and shut.

Slick- I looked and looked can't find anything in my book about
the IMRC other than when removing the intake it said to set IMRC actuator bracket aside. I would say your right on it being a elec control, and not adjustable just a replaceable part.(just my $0.2).
Let me know where you find it, book does not show location of it.

It has been covered a few times. Not too common.

Slick,

Check your vacuum lines in the main manifold behind the battery tray. The IMRC butterflies are operated by vacuum. The code is detecting that they are open when they should be closed. The butterfly and the actuator can be easily checked for movement, but they are dependant on vacuum to operate. These lines get holes and breaks in them. In fact I'd check all the vacuum line intergrity all the way down to the actuator itself. The nipple on the connection end of the actuator may be cracked etc.

I speak from first hand experience of chasing down this very same code in mine.
