Hey guys need some help. I am modding the oe air filter box. On the second part of the filter container closest to the drivers side. How do you remove the bolt on the bottom? I have tried to remove it with a 13m socket and wrench and it won't come out. It doesn't even really move. Please help. I can't figure it out.

I'm looking at the shop manual and it doesn't show any bolts holding the air cleaner on. It just says:

"Lift the (B) open end of the (A) inlet air cleaner until free of the (C) air cleaner support insulators (9P686).

CAUTION:
The inlet air cleaner should be removed as an assembly. Do not separate the air cleaner from the fender inlet tube during removal or installation.
Pull the inlet air cleaner away from the inner fender."

 

I will try that. It just seems pretty well attached. Thanks for spending the time to look that up for me. Where do you get that on the net. Or do you have a manual at home?

I got the Service Manual from Ebay on CD. You can pick one up for about $10. It really comes in handy.

Here is a link to one for the 2000 model year. I've got one for the 2001-2002 model years. You can find just about any late model year you need.

to get the left part of the intake off that runs into the fender? just pull up. they are rubber things stuck in a hole. very simple
