Angry If this day could get any worse!!

I'm at work tonight (4-midnight) and my wife calls at 5pm, mind you this has been a bad day already, and tells me that my new mirrors came in for my truck.

Okay, it's getting a little better.....

And then it's get worse, anyway, I get home at 3am and open up the box that my mirrors came in and to my suprise, they are not factory but aftermarket.

Maybe they'll be fine, but I thought I was buying a factory part here's the link, tell me what you think.

Sorry Man

Looks like they should have been some nice FORD replacement mirrors. I saw them myself about a week ago and thought it would be cool to have just a little more chrome. Is the shiny stuff even chrome or that plastic stuff? Do they at least fit nice?

Is there no Ford stamp and part #?? Sounds like an overseas part if it doesn't. One of the reasons Ford is going after sites and parts stores using their name. You can go to body parts places that sell parts identical to Fords products. They look the same, but are not quite the quality of the originals. I feel for ya, man!,,,,98

Nice truck 98SCREAMER. I checked your photo gallery out. It was cool. Keep up the good work! BTW, I love the cutout on your rear bumper for those exhaust tips. Nice job.

Nope, no factory seal. Oh well, I thought that they were from the description online. No where in that ad does it say OEM or Genuine Factory Part.

Oh well, I put them in this morning. They don't actually look bad. The chrome is a piece of plastic And I had to drill open 2 holes (one on each side) a little more to get them to fit. We'll see how they turn out, maybe they'll fall apart and then I can just go and get some that are an actual factory part.

If I could figure out how to post a picture up here I'd let you folks see the finished job. Hey, if someone knows how I can do this, email me. cjundt1@charter.net

Thumbs up

Don't feel too bad, the chrome part on the factory mirrors is plastic too. Chrome plated plastic, but still plastic.,,,,98

Thanks Peacemaker

Those are aftermarket with out a doubt.

www.autobodypartswholesale.com

they have the same stuff too. In fact if you do a search you will find some 20 sites that have the same setup just different name. aftermarket isn't too shaby, mainly the fit is the problem. quality is even if not 90% of ford's.
