Didn't someone do this already?

I was thinking a while back I read a post about someone using paint thinner or something on the older 97-98 emblems to give them a chrome look?

I tried paint thinner today and it did not work, AT ALL. I guess what I really need to do is break down and buy some new emblems. If I do this, I know how to get the old ones off, but I have seen 3 holes, are these just alignment holes or is there a screw or something?

Thanks.

holes are just for alignment. to strip the black you need to use acetone. and it won't work for the 97 emblems because the paint was baked on or something like that. New emblems are only like 14 bucks though, and then you can acetone them before you put them back on. Good luck

o yeah, there are places that make replacement red XLT stickers if you have them on your emblems, because the acetone will take them off. if you need a link to a place to get them, email me (joshv_85@yahoo.com) i don't wanna post it on here in respect to the site. I don't think they sell them in this store.

good luck
