Crown Vic or Mark VIII

Ok, I'm puttin an electric fan in shortly. Just not sure If I want to go with the Crown vic or Mark viii. I know the Mark viii will cool much better, but I'm not sure if I need all that cooling and if it will drain my battery.

I just want to get the damn clutch fan out of there. So....is the Crown Vic fan sufficient in cooling...anyone have any suggestions. Thanks.

From personal experience.... DO NOT GET IT!!!!

I've burned up 3 relays. This fan sucks 100amps for 30milliseconds then another 80 amps for 300milliseconds and has a continuous amp draw of 25 amps.

If you get a aftermarket fan like derale(?) or something else they have a start amperage of 25-30amps, which you will not burn up relays.

I suggest going with a dual fan setup from Mike Troyer.

I've discussed this with him before and I'm having trouble keeping this fan mark VIII fan on. Right now it sits in my garage while I find a way to set it up right.

derale fans a great, you should be able to fit dual 16in fans. and they sell a relay kit with a thermostat, ajustable on/off temps, and an A/C override. you can also run it via a manual switch if you so desire. this can be nice for the track.

Do I really need 2 fans though? I thought one good electric fan is better than the stock fan.
