I JUST BOUGHT BOTH THESE ITEMS, I DID NOT INSTALL YET AND WHAT CAN I EXPECT. ANY INSTALL TIPS?
MY NEXT MOD IS THE GIBSON SWEPT SIDE FOR MY 99XL. HOW WILL THE MAC AND THE THROTTLE SPACER WORK WITH THE EXHAUST?

 

From the Mac, expect a good pickup in the mid RPMs. Also expect a big throaty sound from under the hood, and when you punch it, you'll hear a super deep sucking sound, this is normal.

Expect a whistle from the spacer, that's about it.

 

Don't forget to clean out the rust with some wd-40 from the inside of the mac intake tube.

Good 1st mod, bad 2nd mod... my opinion of course. Lot's have been using the spacer as a decorative paper weight

 

MAC intake is a good start, but as Talley said the TB spacer is a pure waste of your hard erned money.

 

send the tb spacer back.

 

Toss the TB spacer in the trash.

jefflaws put one on his truck off the dealer lot ( it was free for him ) and he said it did squat ( paraphrasing ).

He also said it was not worth any money, let alone the labor to install it.

I have always stayed away from TB spacers, from never finding someone that ais it did anything.

I guess you could say does not do anything good or bad, it is kind of a netural mod

 

Sell it or take it back. Who want's a nuetral mod?

 

I was trying to think of a neutral mod, but couldn't at the time.

I thought about it was like re-undercoating your truck, but if you have a spot that was mared by road debris, this would recoat it.
How about the [paint the back of your tail lights mod]. It looks cool when you are chaning you bulbs, but other wise it does not help the truck ? This could be a colormatched paint job to the paint on the truck....<g>

I was just trying to clarify that I never heard a bad thing about them ( made it run like ***** or the likes ).
Maybe the bad part is this mod uses your time and money from other mods ?

Then again if you want your truck to whislte, then this is the mod for that, the whistle while you work mod

 

I know what you meant SSCULLY. I wasn't bustin your ***** or anything. I'm just the kind of guy that likes to get something out of my mods besides a whistle....I know how to whistle.

At least with the appearance mods your truck looks better and the undercoating has a purpose. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to find a purpose for the TB Spacer other than to make annoying whistles.
