Good Ridens!!!!

Jokin bro!

At least you kept the same motor.... You should now think about dropping in a 4.2 shortblock now.

Good luck trying to make that thing a speed demon. I've seen many try and fail, the car just doesn't want to go fast. Maybe you'll have better luck. Put a turbo or supercharger on it, then it might kick.

it's because it's front wheel drive.

All share the same motor

F150 4.2, E150 4.2, Cougar 3.8, Windstar 3.8, Mustang 3.8, and Thunderbird 3.8 (supercharged and non)

Same motor.

Slow ?

2.5 l 170 hp v-6 stock...slow uhhh nope not at all.
IT spanks the living **** outta my old truck....bad. no comparison. anyways uhh with the turbo kit i can mess with lightnings....and pretty much all the rice i want to. As for it being slow when i get the turbo we will see....i know i have to beef up the tranny but thats about it other than the motor. I have no idea why you think these cars are slow... Its not the same engin but hey the car runs stock with what talley has listed as his quarter mile time. I really hate to see everyone bashing the cougar...Wish there were some good engin guys in Louisiana i am gonna be needing one in a little bit ! Anyways thanks for the support...and well for the non supporters ohh well it was my decision. Can i say yes it is pretty fast.

Latez

I would not compare a cougar to your truck... anything could have beat your truck with the auto and rolling on 20's?????

Good Luck with your cougar, hopefully you can pull something off. Keep us up to date!

Give me a break. Trucks are trucks and cars are cars. A V-6 F150 is not made for speed, nor is a Cougar, not naturally at least. When you start manhandeling Z28's with the LS1, then I'll say it's fast. I may just be spoiled though due to my friends 9.5 second GN.

Ummm ok here goes....the turbo for the cougar brings it up from 170 to 264 and 240 something ftlbs of torque.. Now compare the size of a cougar to an f-150...any tally yours even. Now think what that cinda power could do for a cougar....and thats just a turbo without all the other bs hp mods so it would be well over 300 by the end....thats when you get into beefing up the tranney...also guys the car is an under dog. so me going up against anything that is fast and spanking it would be worthy of mention. Duh look at wrong day j didn't he used to have a L ? He says its more fun racin in his 4.2 so go figure. I coulda made a note on an L but i got my cougar and its payed for so ohh well. And its decked out. but i will keep you posted maybee get you guys to like the little car any more. Another question have any of you been in your f-150s and been past 110 ? Hows about 115 ? I had my cougar at 113 with plenty of pedal to go so i likes it ! !!!
all smiles here guys

thanks for your imput

performance parts?

So do they have alot of performance parts for the 2.5 v6 cougar? I saw you were talking about a turbo for it, what else do they have for it? Well anyway have some fun in that little thing. And keep in touch with all of us and tell us how the project cougar is going. I was looking at the 2003 hyundai tibron gt 2.7 v6. The #'s are pretty good for those little things- 181 hp/ 177lbs 0-60 7.1sec. 1/4 15.4@91mph completely stock! Those little things are pretty bad a$$ and I just found out how many tuners there are. I don't think it will ever be a lightning eater but could be a very very fast sports car to have some fun in.

P.S. I got the performance specs from- www.t-h-c.org

I said it before, I'll say it again. A truck is a truck, a car is a car, you can't compare apples to oranges, best of luck to ya though.
