Towing
Has anyone ever towed anything like say...a 3000lb camper with their v-6 5speed?
Just bought my 2002 super-cab and I'm considering a camper. The one I like is about 3000lbs, max for the 5speed is 3300lbs.
No mods yet but an AIRAID is on the way. I assume a chip and exhaust will also help with the towing.

AND I ALSO HAVE THE 5 SPD....GET THE TOW HITCH PUT ON , IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE IN THE HANDLING GOING DOWN THE ROAD. I HAVE HAD MINE UP TO 85 AND IT PULLS SMOOTHLY. I DO RECOMMEND TRAILER BRAKES AS THEY WILL SAVE YOUR TAIL FROM TIME TO TIME.
Do you mean get the weight distributing bars installed?
I just picked up my camper with no problems...but 4th gear on the highway... very very dead...found myself shifting into 3rd quite a bit.
there was no sway, just bounce.
Reese has a light-weight anti sway kit...don't think I need it though.
