highest mileage V6

who here has the V6 with the most miles...

mine just turned over 25000 yesterday and so far no problems (except a city dump truck hit me while parked last friday, but most of the damage was transferred thru my truck and into the white car parked behind me)

With 13,445 miles as of 6/25/02, I have absolutely no problems to report, engine or otherwise, this truck has been just great. Hope to get at least 300K out of it.

My 97 has just a tad under 87,000. Hopefully get another 87 out of it. I have had some work done by the dealer, new clutch syncros and of course the dreaded coolant leak recall work.

'97 with 152,000 miles. Mostly good with exception of rough idle and timing chain cover gasket replacement. I'm pretty sure that 225,000 is not out of the question with these trucks. When it wears out, I'll certainly buy another one.

97 with 259k

Hi guys,

My daughter (17 years old) got the hand-me-down of my 1997 XLT supercab with the v6 and the automatic.

Truck currently has 259,000 miles on it and it still runs great! We live 65 miles from San Antonio, texas (in falls city) and she drives into san antonio everyday, so she drives a MINIMUM of 130 miles a day, and probably closer to 200 miles a day. That truck gets filled with gas 5 times a week! She drives it like she stole it.

259k and still crankin!

Later,
Wesley

I don't see how she can do that considoring how slow these things are. Sorry but I'm one of those HP freaks which these trucks don't provide. But they seem pretty reliable, I have 30K miles and have had no problems YET.

Great to hear about your reliable F-150, dont you also have a '99 F-150 with over 260K miles, as well as having several other Fords with high milages? How are they holding up these days? Just curious.

HIGH MILEAGE

Yes we DID have 5 trucks with high mileage, but have since sold all fo them, and got four 03' expeditions that are all IDENTICAL (in every way).... We kept the 1997 F150 to use as a ranch truck, and for my youngest daughter to drive during the week... The following were the mileages on the vehichles when they were traded in.

278K 99 F150 5.4 v8- Still ran great!
201K 00 F150 4.6 v8 - still ran grweat!
189K 99 Expedition 5.4 v8 - needed a little work, needed new exhaust.

On one of our 2003 expeditions we already have 7k miles!

OK thank you man, great to hear about Ford trucks racking up the mileage. Theres a guy on www.pickuptruck.com who delivers cars across the US, has 2 F-550, (01 and 02 models), the '01 already has over 500K and the '02 is pushing 300K!! He runs constantly with 3 guys in a truck all over the place. I know it doesn't pertain to this specific forum, but since were talking high milage I thought I'd share. And BTW, I am staying dry, but 200 homes are destroyed here in Kerrville, after nearly 19 inches of rain fell, it's just awful.

I hear ya on the rain

Thats cool about the 550's.
Man I'm complaining about it raining too much here in Big D, but I feel sorry for you guys. We've been getting alot of flash storms that flood the streets, but nothing thats lasts for any amount of time. I've been trying to wash my car for a week, checking the forecasts
