Talley - Throttle Body Mod?
I ported the throttle body myself and it takes about 20 minutes to do. Take your TB off your truck before doing this. Go to your local hardware store and buy two paddle sanding wheels in a 3 inch size. One coarse(60) and one fine(120) grit. Put them on a regular high speed drill and insert them into the incoming side of the TB. Just port the side that is before the throttle plate. Do not make contact with the throttle plate! The rear portion of the TB around the butterfly is a "TRUE" 65mm, but the first portion leading up to the butterfly is only 60mm. (measured with a digital caliper) Because the sanding paddle is 3 inch, you do not have to push hard on it. It will apply the preasure all by it's self because it is jammed in the bore. Start with the coarse paddle and when you are close to the desired bore then switch to the fine one and polish the remainder bore. On mine when looking from the front of the truck, the 1ST 1.5 to 2 inches of the inside bore is only about 66-67mm in diameter. It then jumps down or opens up to 70mm where the throttle plat is and operates. I simply ported out that 1ST 1.5 to 2 inches in front of the throttle plate to make it a true 70MM all the way through the entire inside bore of the TB*. When your done, there will be alot of metal dust. Is what I did was wash the entire throttle body in my kitchen sink with water and dish soap and then dried it completely before bolting it back on. Hope this helps you out.
