Pulley for the 4.2

Ask Mike, Post a forum with the a question for Mike, and he'll give you all the info about the pulley you want to know. I do know that the pulley system for the 1999 4.2 models are still being manufactured and have not yet hit the shelves yet. The pulley give the 4.2 a sure 8hp gain through out the drivetrain, and are well worth the purchase. I don't know how much they run, but if you talk to Mike he can answer all your questions!
Good luck!

Jay

My friend has a 4.2 and I always read up on mods for him. I noticed that some one said that there are pullies out for the v6. Where can you purchase them from and what brand?

Yes they do have pulleys out for the 4.2, the pulleys for the 97/98 are already in stock and selling, the pulley's for the 99' 4.2 took more time to develop so they are be manufactured right now, they will be available in about four to six weeks. Have you talked to Mike before ( superchips_distributor), He can give you all the information on any part for your 4.2 and any performance upgrade that is worth the money and that is just plan extra weight to slow ya down.

Go to the CHIPS forum page and post a message for MIKE?, and he will help you out, he has been more than helpful for me in the efforts to get my 4.2 in the high performance state I desired. If you want to talk to him he has his number listed at the vendors listed on this website.

His company specializes in Ford trucks and SUV's Performance Products, INC.

Give Him a call!
Good Luck in you search for performance!

Thumbs up

Yes... the pulley is still in production for 99-02 vehicles. Lee at ASP installed the prototype on my truck and tested it. I have paid money out of my own pocket to get the product dyno'ed and gained 7.6rwhp at peak... with smaller gains throughout the powerband. It seems that every body really likes mike... I myself... don't swing that way

here is a link to a thread with my custom race crank pulley:

You can thank me for all the testing and my time in helping out the 4.2's. otherwise availability would have been later this summer.
