I was suprised today when I got home and figured my total MPG for todays trip. I traveled approx. 400 miles round trip and on the way there I managed 24 MPG and finished out the trip with 20.06 MPG, and that's with a 30 MPH headwind on the way back. Not bad at all for the ole effie....

No kidding, I had to recheck my math. I put 22 gal in my truck. For the first 1/4 tank I went a little over 120 miles. The next 1/4 I went about 102 miles, then another 100, and finally 90before the light came on. I have had my fuel system completely empty at one time and wondered where my fuellight came on and it hits about 1.5 to 2 gal. in the tank considering the miles I can go from the light to emty(found that out the hard way...) I am amazed, but I think the mods I have performed have maximized bot hmy power and economy and I feel that anymore would sacrifice mileage, IOW I feel my motor is at it's maximum effeciency without going into the very technical side of things. Too bad I"m giving it up for a gas guzzling S/C 4V'er snake.....

 

that good what speed were you going? the best ive gotten from a road trip was 19.

 

75-80 MPH at 3000-3400rpms about 90% of the time.
