timing chains???

Has anyone on here had there timing belt or timing chain replaced? I see that this is a regular service item and should be done some time. I have almost 100k on my truck and was thinking it might be a good thing to get done. Is it something you can do yourself or would you recomend it being done? how much was it?

Our engines use a timing "chain".

Only times "belts" need to be replaced at specified intervals, such as every 75,000-100,000 miles.

A timing "chain" is generally good for the life of the engine and beyond.

Ford tech rate on this is about 8 hours.
