My 01 F-150 was just in the dealer for a bad coil pack, was only running on five cylinders and check engine light came on has anyone else had this happen on the 4.2 I only have 9100 miles on the truck. Just seems too soon to have a problem like this happen. The dealer did however fix it under warrenty

 

I haven't read about a coil pack failure in the v6 message board before, I doubt you'll have a problem with it again. Someone has to get a bad part every now and then...

Same thing happened to mine - only it ran on three cylinders.....well sort of......but the coil pack was also replaced - no problem since....
