Thumbs up End all drag race...

I lined up with my buddy tonite for the end all drag race. He drives a 2000 silverado extra cab 4x4 with the 5.3 motor, auto trans, 4.10 gears, and 305/70/16 (33") tires. I've been listening to his BS for months about how fast his truck is, blah blah blah. We finally lined up on an empty street tonite.

From the green light we both got a good start. I pulled away about 1 length thru first gear. As I slammed into second he caught up, but I pulled away about a length by the time I shifted. I didn't lose any ground shifting to third. At 80 mph I was ahead by one length, and he decided to shut down.

Needless to say, it was most excellent to beat him. If he ever gets his 65 shelby mustang put back together I'm in for a whoopin.

Re: End all drag race...

My older brother has a 2000 cheyrolet Z-71 with a 5.3 4x4 auto and regular cad short bed, he just put on new tires I think they are 34 but I'am not sure, any whey I have a 4.2 auto short bed regular cab step side 2x4 and 33 inch tires. We have never actually lined up and raced although we give each other a hard time.(I know I admitted my brother drives a chevrolet) But there is not much I can do about it. I drive his tuck sometimes and I don't think it has as much torque as my Ford but I guess theirs only one way to find out.
