Back in March, I had a rocker arm cover gasket replaced at a Ford dealer after I noticed oil leaking from the rear of the engine block on the driver side (see my post "oil leak & warranty"). The warranty had covered it (saved me $120).

Yesterday, when I was changing my transmission fluid, I noticed the same D*A*M*N leak at the same spot. I have only 1500 miles left on my warranty, I am scheduled to have it checked this Friday (along with the groaning brake noise). I am concerned that this might be more than a gasket problem. I have read that older series V8 blocks had a known defect in their molds. I have not heard the same about V6 engine blocks. The leak is not that bad (I have not seen drops on my driveway). But the rear side of the engine block has a coat of this oil just beneath the rocker arm cover. I don't see this on the passenger side.

Has anyone noticed this on their V6?

I will keep you informed as to what Ford has to say about this.
