Unhappy Time to change the brakes!

Hey Everybody- Just wanted to know around what mileage everyone had to change their brakes? How much work had to be done? I am at 40000 and I have to do all 4. So much for the bank account!!
Everyone enjoy their day!- Andrew

Brakes

I have a '98 F150 XLT SC with V6 and 5-speed. I changed the front pads and rotors @ 75,000 kms (46,500 miles). A local shop tried to turn the original rotors but they had great difficulty and they warped immediately. I replaced them with new aftermarket rotors. I have not replaced the rears to date. I looked at them in June of this year and they still looked like new. I have 135,000 kms on the truck now. I would say that overall the brakes have been pretty inexpensive to maintain. GlennMc.

Changed the fronts @ 50, something, they were still good, but I had the pads and was due to take some long trips so I did them. Rears never been done and I'm at 76,606 right now. I plan on replacing the rotors, pads, and changinf the rears to discs here in the next month or two.

My front pads didn't need changed until 63,000 miles. Front rotors and rear drums are still stock. I'd recommend paying the money for the OEM pads. I bought the Pinnicle Performance Carbon Metallic front pads for similair money and wish I had it to do over again!

My 97 V6 5speed 3.55 rearend had about 55 thou on her when front pads and rotors had to be changed. I to tryed to turn the rotors, they were to brittle to turn, so I went with after market rotors. Things are GREAT now.

87,000 miles and still on the originals. At 75,000 the dealer said there was at least 15,000 miles left. Guess I don't use the brakes as much as some people.
