2013 F150 V6 3.7L crank- no start
So this has been an occasional on again off again problem. At first it was the fuel pump fuse 27 problem, but I have since replaced that fuse with one that isn't burnt and that fuse has not given me a problem since. I remove the fuse and it still looks brand new.
However occasionally when the truck is hot, and I stop for gas, when I go to restart, it will again do the crank - no start thing initially after filling up. If I shut it off, wait a few seconds and try again, it usually starts, if not, it always starts on the 3rd or 4th try. It has never EVER just quit on me while I am driving. The crank but no start problem happens maybe 1 time out of 5 when i fill up with gas after a long drive.
Fast forward to today and its below freezing so the truck is cold and this morning the truck cranks but does not fire at all. I tried for hours, no go. So I checked everything. Fuse 27 is fine. It has power. Relay is fine. Switched relay with blower motor relay. No change. Checked passenger side fuse 10 amp, lower left, it's fine.
Moved to the rear of the truck to check for power at the fuel control module on top of the axle. It has power. Unpugged the connector and jumpered the terminals to make the fuel pump run. It did. Only thing I couldn't check was the fuel pressure since this model doesn't have a schraeder valve.
After a few hours of dinking around doing nothing new in particular other than hooking the fuel control module back up and bolting it back down, it suddenly started normally and has ever since. The temperature had warmed up to maybe 40F by this time. ,
I will add that the engine runs smoothly, albeit smelling a bit rich. When I hook up an OBDII scanner, no codes are found, and the check engine light is not on.
Recently my airbag light is staying on and my horn has not worked for quite a while so I assume I need a new clock spring, but I also assume that is a separate problem- not part of this crank but no start problem.
My odometer and all other dash lights and electronics work normally.
Just curious if anyone has any ideas of something I could check that I haven't thought of already?
I'm tempted to put a new fuel control module on, but I hate just blindly replacing parts.

That sounds super frustrating, especially since it's so intermittent. Since you've ruled out the common fuse 27 issue and confirmed the pump runs, it really points towards the fuel pump driver module on the frame. They are known for bad solder joints that act up with temperature changes. I'd lean towards replacing that next.
It had a bad purge valve. Causes no start issue especially after filling up with gas. Very easy to diagnose, and took about 1 minute to replace it.
And also I replaced the Fuel control module. About $80 and 5 minutes to replace.
