AI Overview
A "Service AdvanceTrac" warning on an F-150 indicates a fault in the vehicle's stability control system, commonly caused by issues with wheel speed sensors, ABS module, or steering angle sensor. You can try a simple restart, but if the light returns, you need to have it diagnosed with an OBD-II scanner that reads ABS codes.

Troubleshooting Steps
- Use an OBD-II Scanner:
- If the warning light comes back on after a restart, you'll need to get the vehicle scanned for trouble codes. A standard check engine scanner might not read the codes for the AdvanceTrac system, so a more advanced scanner or a professional diagnostic tool is often necessary.
- Inspect Sensors and Wiring:
- The most common culprits for this warning are the wheel speed sensors and the steering angle sensor. Also, check wiring harnesses for damage or corrosion, as a faulty connection can trigger the warning.
- Check for a Temporary Glitch:
- Turn the vehicle off completely, wait a few minutes, and then restart the engine. This can sometimes clear a temporary system error.
- Check for Obvious Damage:
- Visually inspect your tires, wheels, and surrounding areas for any obvious damage or loose connections, such as dirt or corrosion on wheel speed sensors or wiring.
Common Causes
- Wheel Speed Sensors:
These sensors are crucial for the system to know how fast each wheel is turning. Dirt, damage, or a faulty sensor can cause the warning.
- ABS Module:
A problem with the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module, which is integrated with the AdvanceTrac system, can also trigger the warning.
- Steering Angle Sensor:
A failing steering angle sensor, sometimes caused by a broken clock spring (a coil of wires in the steering column), can also trigger the warning.
- Low Battery Voltage:
In some cases, a weak or failing battery can cause various electronic systems, including AdvanceTrac, to malfunction.
If the Warning Persists
- If simple troubleshooting steps don't resolve the issue, it's best to have your F-150 diagnosed by a qualified technician. They can pinpoint the exact faulty component using specialized diagnostic tools.

I don’t even want the truck but maybe I’ll learn my lesson some day
Go to the garage "just to see" → they will do a paid diagnosis and push for quick repairs. Replacing parts at random (it may be useless)

Thanks for the common sense kindness. I’ll be out 100 bucks. Plus even more but I’ll see how they can’t work with me a 996.00 income. Not much room to spare! I’ve lowered the price to 9k nobody wants it!
seems even you don’t want it
