P1299 After Spark Plug Change

Hi,

I changed out my spark plugs on my 2020 2.7L.

Everything seemed to go great but unfortunately now my coolant temp is instantly maxed at start up (engine is cold) and I am getting a p1299 code, which is a cylinder head temperature sensor code.

I located the temp sensor and triple checked that all electrical connections are tight and secured. I did this all over the engine but especially for the wires going to the sensor. Everything looks good to me.

Anyone have any ideas? It would be a crazy coincidence if the sensor is actually in need of replacing. I am assuming I damaged a wire or something but everything looks fine to me.

Thanks in advance for any help. Much appreciated.

Sounds like you banged up either the CHT or its connection.

Is it possible to test the incoming voltage with my multimeter? By this I mean sticking a probe into the connector to see if the sensor is even getting any power? Thanks
