4.2 V6 to 2.7 EB

It’s been a long time. I wasn’t able to log into this site for years. I had my 4.2 manual V6 truck for nearly 15 years. Last fall I picked up a 2017 with 40k on it. The 2.7 is insanely fast, especially when compared to my old truck.

Nice to see some familiar names. This site doesn’t seem to get a whole lot of activity these days?

July 2021. Still no rust.

2017 2.7 EB 4x4.

Nice truck!

I would still bet my money on the 4.2l lasting a lot longer. Less moving parts.

I don’t disagree. The whole truck was insanely basic and there was nothing to break. I sold the white truck private party for $6k. Got 30 people who wanted it and it was gone in less than a day.

Living in Vermont and having 4wd is nice. I would have definitely gotten stuck in the storm we had the other day if I still had the white truck.

We just bought a 2022 20’ airstream and the manual F150 sadly wouldn’t have towed that well. The white truck was good to me and never let me down in all of the years I had it.

The 2.7 EB seems to be one of the most reliable engines in this generation so I’m not too worried. I don’t think I’ll own it over 100k miles either way.

Thanks!
