Hey everyone, first post.

yesterday while towing across Nevada, our 2011 F-150 eco had a loud whine noise appear while passing a vehicle. Immediately after passing I lost all power so moved off the road. Engine light was flashing and I turned off the truck. Plugged in scanner to obd2 and ran codes. I had a ton of codes like cycliner misfire etc.

truck wouldn’t start and someone I was with recommended clearing the codes so we could see what was actually happening rather than the result of losing power. We reset the computer, the Truck started only one time and ran pretty rough for about 2 minutes, whine was still there and rough idle.

i assume it’s the turbo, but would love to hear some other possibilities. With turbos being close to 1k, I did find a motor with 30k on it for a great price so think unless it’s something minor I’ll just replace the motor. But hey I would love to hear what the experts think could be wrong.

I’ll have dealer run diagnostics on Monday.
