Question

Can anyone tell me why my 2012 ford f150 Ecoboost 3.5 v6 twin turbo gas gauge bounces around I had 370 miles to empty it goes from 370 to 150 to 75to30 then 0 all it dose is bounces around alot I was wondering if it's the fuel filter or fliter or the fuel sending unit can anyone tell me

Sounds like the float is either bent, broken, or stuck.

Unfortunately the only way to look at is by dropping the tank.

You might have trash in the tank.

It's not too bad. I do recommend having a helper.

You'll want to get as much fuel out of the tank as possible to make it lighter.

Thank u how do u get the fuel out of the tank with out taken it off the truck ? This is my first time doing this with a truck like this

I'd recommend dropping it like what this fella did, and then using a hand pump and draining it.

The less fuel the better...
