Truck does not crank, starter silinoid just clicks

Good day all,

I have an issue that just popped up. I have a 2002 f150 v6 4.3 liter that when you turn the key it just clicks at the starter silinoid on the back firewall and does not turn over. I can move the spark plug wires at the distributor type device on top of the valve cover or re-seat them for a bit then the truck fires right up. The battery is brand new as that was replaced. Any ideas as to what to check next, starter, coil, plug wires, etc? Does not seem to get any fire.

Thanks much!
Brandon

If it just clicks and does not turn over, you have an issue somewhere between the battery and starter - either a failing electrical component, or a loose or corroded connection, or a bad wire. Coil and plug wires have nothing to do with it.
