hey you guys, remember a long time ago i said i was going to blow up my v-6 to drop a 460 in my truck, well, the days are nearing. i finally got my 460 out of my '78 and tore it down. getting it to a machine shop this friday. I did some math and came up with about 515 hp. and about 550 ftlbs of torque. thats all motor no nitrous or boost or anything, and thats an economic build, under 2-3K. so the time is nearing, i will take down corvettes.

 

are you planning on beefing up the rear end, trans, etc...... going from a 6 to a monster 8 will have an effect on your other parts. take pics when you cram that beast in there

 

well my plan was to go with the ford 9 inch that i have and stick with some heavy duty leaf springs until i could afford something better. ive got 4.11's in that one now so it would be perfect. i cant wait to do it.

 

i would love to do that. In about 10 years when im out of school, getting a new truck. build this truck up into a bad street machine. keep us up to date so i (we) can watch your progress. good luck
