Synthetic Oil
synthetic oil is ok once you have the engine broke in. However, if it's a new engine, you have a better chance of spinning out a berring if you are running a synthetic.
The synthetic oil is so viscious, that it does not allow foir the engine to allow for the inital wear that is caused during the brake-in process, allowing berrings to seat, and other things. Presonally, i reccomend using a conventional oil for at least the first 10,000 km, or around 6,000 mi, to let the engine brake in.

ya, i've been around this stuff for quite a while. I reccomend conventional oils for around the first 20,000 km of the engine's life to allow for adiquite brake in.
