2014 vs 2015

Hope this isn't a dumb question, but I've got a 2014 Limited (14,000 miles) and a friend of mine, just purchased a new leftover 2015 Platinum. Both trucks have the same motor, but his acceleration is VERY powerful, night and day compared to mine. His actually pushes you into the seat. Is there actually a difference between the 2 motors?

I recently had mine in the shop (warranty) being looked at for a small brief rattle sound when accelerating. Kind of like a heat shield rattle. I've also been experiencing a little hesitation in acceleration. When I come to a rolling stop and then give it gas to take off, the truck tends to hesitate before moving. The rpm's climb to about 3K then it'll go. However, this doesn't do it all the time. Ford didn't find anything wrong. I actually had to go to the dealer and drive with the mechanic in the passenger seat, so he could feel what I was talking about. He then heard the rattle. The next day, they told me their was a TSB for the twin turbo's and parts were ordered to fix the problem. However a week later, I still have the rattle and hesitation problems.

Any answers or suggestions as to what could be causing these problems or if there is a difference between the 2014 and 2015 motors.

the 2015 is the same motor. I'm sure the tuning is slightly different, but probably not enough to make much of a difference. The only think I can see making a difference is rear end ratios and the reduced weight of the 2015. Also, is your limited AWD? that might be slowing you down a bit.

Also add in the fact that the computer learns your driving style. If you are aggressive, it adapts to that style if you are Miss Daisy it adapts to that style. If you drive like Miss Daisy all the time then try to drag race it you will be sorely disappointed.

UPDATE:

After 3 visits to the shop and with the Ford Technicians finally hearing the noise after I drove them in the truck (they couldn't hear it when they drove by themselves), they decided to replace my left turbo. They seem to think that will be the fix to the rattle we're hearing. New one is supposed to be in this week, so I'll let you know how that goes.

So.... before I took truck into shop for fix, I noticed my mpg went from an average of 18-19mpg highway, to 14-15mpg. My city mpg went from 15-16 mpg to 13-14mpg. Got the truck back with the new turbo and noticed the truck was much more responsive. City mpg was back to 15-16mpg. However, when I got on the gas, I STILL noticed the rattle sound on the left side. Anyone have suggestions as to what this noise could be?????
