DAVEMAN is right on the money (no pun intended). I went to SC after Hugo with my utility company to aid a local EMC in repairing downed power lines. We were horified at the gouging that was going on at the time, too. A side note to this is that we met alot of very friendly and outgoing local people that were glad to see us getting their lights back on. My crew was very surprised that even after what the local people had endured, some going weeks without power, they were still in good spirits and very nice to us.

I agree whole-heartedly with the above posts, just vote with your feet. Go somewhere else and buy your fuel.
