rough idle

BIGMIKE- I had the same problems as a lot of you and I had to change one item at a time and try to find the solution for my rough idling problems. My '97 started to idle roughly at stops after it was driven 20 to 30 miles. After changing the 02 sensors, the rough idle went away for good. It is a $300 to $400 solution (total of four sensors) but in hindsight, if you try replacing only the two upstream sensors first, you would cut your cost in half and maybe solve your rough idle. The upstream sensors are the more critical (and harder to get at) sensors and should be replaced first. Let me know if this works for you-ALOHA from Hawaii!
