Confused by f-150

Angry Confused by f-150

I'm stumped..get in my 99 f-150 4.2L to go to work..truck would not start..engine turns over like its out of gas..but when I get home it starts right up..has me puzzled..had fuel pump,fuel filter and vacuum work done..what could be the problem?

First things first, you have to confirm spark and fuel are good. Pull some plugs and see what they look like, also verify spark.

checked plugs they are fine..could it be something to do with EGR valve or its connections mainly the Vapor management valve or the canister?

EGR really shouldn't affect starting, so you verified good spark then? Not just clean plugs.

Could very well be something electronic in the ignition. Intermittent problems aren't mechanical in nature usually. I consider fuel issues mechanical. Then it could always be the inertia switch acting up.
