My 2000 4.2 with a manual trans. is hesitant to start. It takes a couple seconds when i turn the key. Don't get me wrong, it starts up every time but it's been this way since I bought it a couple years ago. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

 

A "couple seconds" is normal.

 

Well I've got an Expedition and an Impala and both of these vehicles start much quicker than my F150. The truck takes a couple seconds longer than normal. Sorry, should have been more specific.
