Post rough idle cont.

We have talked about the rough idle problem quite a bit, and I have read thru most of the threads. I have the problem as well, and have procrastinated long enough trying to eliminate the problem.
If someone could post a list of things to replace/fix/look into, it would be great. If we could come up with a list of the most probable causes in order, I could start with #1 and work my way up until it's fixed. It seems like different people have different cures for the problem. It seems as though there may be more than one thing that can cause the same problem.
I wonder if anybody from Ford reads this forum, and implements any of our findings and suggestions in the manufacture of new trucks?

rough idle

ltmox,

I just posted on the other, longer thread how that at one time at about 15,000 miles my truck had the cold start rough idle and changing the filter to an Deutch (at Autozone) made it go away.

But now at 83000 miles I am having the "HOT" version of the idle problem, where after driving for several miles in hot weather the engine idles REALLY bad when you get off the interstate at the stop light. Some have suggested O2 sensors, but I would like to know for sure before I try it.

Sorry no one answered your post sooner. Back in 1997, this board seemed much more helpful. In the past 2-3 years I have had several unanswered posts.
