Oakman, I've had my '13 Ecoboost for about a month and have 1000 miles on it and am averaging 15 MPG per the dash computer. This is with my normal conservative driving style, (70MPH on highway, no lead foot in the city). Was your MPG similar at 1000 miles? I hoping that the MPG will go up as the engine gets broken in. Is this what you experienced?

I got mine on Dec 28th and it has 2600 miles on it. Have pulled a single axle enclosed trailer pretty well. Have a friend that had a 2011 with 108,000 miles and no issues. He just got a 2013. That's the reason why I got one this time.
So far I like mine. But, I liked my 2010 with the 5.4 as well. I put 106000 on it and had no issues with the engine.

70mph is not conservative. It's breaking the speed limit on most CA freeways. If you want good mileage out of your heavy beast you must stay at or a little below the speed limit. If you don't care about your mileage drive it faster.

I just did a trip from Escondido to Chula Vista and stayed at 65 or below when traffic slowed and was at 27.5 when I exited the freeway.

Did another trip from San Marcos to La Habra and was at 26.7. If traffic slows you can't change lanes and run it up to 70 or 75 to get around the slower traffic. Slow down. You'll get there. JMHO. I'm in no hurry. I'm going a lot faster than my great great great grandparents ever dreamed of.
