Oil Pressure outlet

Is there another place to put an oil pressure sender on the Ecoboost engine?

Oil pressure sender

I am looking for another tapped and plugged oil channel that I can screw in a real oil pressure gauge sending unit. With only 260 miles on my XLT, I don't want to mess with disconnecting the one Ford is using. Sometimes there is an oil passage on both sides that could be used. Anyone know about the 2013 Ecoboost engine?

I'm not sure how the Ford sensor is set up but would it be possible to tap the signal wire from it to use on an electric pressure gauge?

We both can't be asking questions, and I was first. However, the warranty comes to mind if I disturb the wiring and it fails to alert me.

Hope nobody jumps on me and says what's the differene between splicing into the factory wiring and screwing a new undetectable sensor that can be removed without leaving an audit trail. Oh, yea, I just answered my own concern.

I guess when I do my first oil change, I will be looking around.

Why not just make a Y cable* and leave the factory harness untouched? This would let you remove the sensor wire if for some reason you were worried about the Service department questioning the installation. I have not really looked for a second plug on mine. However, I do not think there will be one. The block in the F-150 EB is only used for the F-150. Unless there is a reason to drill, tap and plug the hole I doubt Ford would do it. It adds cost and a failure point without serving a purpose.

* Y cable - One end of a jumper harness that will connect to the sensor with two different outputs.

sorry, i can not tell you if there is an extra treaded port on this.

however i can tell you that tapping into the existing pressure sensor will not work.
the pressure sensor does not send a signal to the dash gauge. it provides a ground through a temp. controlled resister thus providing a variable ground for the gauge. if you under stand electronics, then (ohm's law) would show how the current would be affected and the gauges would not show propper readings.

if no extra port is available then remove existing one and install a "t" and then screw in both.
