New guy needing buying advice

I'm a new guy here and i'm wondering what a fair price would be for this 2006 F150 STX 4.2 V6 with 75,403 miles. http://apps.dealerconnection.com/dea...ownedImg=false

I'm also wondering if the 4.2 would be ok for occasional towing?

Private party book is $8200 and it can tow 5000 pounds. Dealer retail is 10 grand.
