I have a 2000 with a 4.2 5 speed manual 4x2 and 146,000 on the clock. A few weeks ago it developed a loud squeaking squealing noise under the hood that mostly occurs under load and is most noticeable between 1,100 to 1,400 rpm. It is not belt related as the noise is present with the belt removed. I then replaced the cam synchronizer as a long shot, that did not fix the noise. A few days later the check engine light came on, code was P1309 Misfire Monitor. I checked the wiring and connections that I may have disturbed, disconnected and reconnected the battery, and now the check engine light is off. Any ideas on the cause of the annoying squeak / squeal? Also, is the "Y" tube for the heater hoses off the top of the water pump a Dealer or junkyard only item? Curious Mark
