Cool nitrous express kit installed

i am going to have my nitrous express kit installed monday (august 13,2001 ) hope to post some times soon .....

according to www.wheelspin.net , the truck has 228 rwhp right now to run 15.90 with a truck weighing w/ driver and gas about 4950 lbs

i am going to put the 100 hp kit on it and see what it will do , if the formula is correct , it says the truck should run 14.19 so we will wait and see !!!!

Is that kit made for the 4.2 or is it kind of like a universal kit for fuel injected ford engines? I emailed NX about a kit from them and they said they had it for the 4.2 and would send me all the info i needed but nothing as of yet. Also could you tell me where you got it from and a price. Thanks

let it cool down and ran it again ..... drum roll please

the truck ran 14.41 @ 96.1 mph with traction problems top of 1st gear and through 2 gear a little

hope to do some tuning on it and maybe shave another .10 second or .2 off

Cool

Fast V6, man that is a quick truck! To get your V6 pickup into the 14's is quite an accomplishment! Great going!

Question, is your truck a extra cab or standered cab?

Question HMMM..

Something is not adding up? 4950lbs. and 228 HP = 16.25 quarter mile, right? Is that 228 rwhp w/ NOS or without? These trucks put out about 165 RWHP N/A from what I've read.

my guess on the horspower is about 300. i remember readeing about the chips when your engine isn't n/a for instance if you add nos, turbo, or supercharger it adds about 30 to 40% rather than just n/a it only adds about 10%.
hey fast v6, how hard was it adding the nitrous kit. and are you worried about damaging your engine?

Arrow

let me first start by answering questions of not adding up ...
i don't know how much hp these trucks are suppose to be stock ,but bone stock (the i bought the truck ) i took it to the track and it ran 16.54 don't remember the mph .after the 3 bolt ons the truck ran a best of 15.90 and did this a few times (between 15.90-15.96 ) it is a 5 speed , regular cab , 3.55 gears w/trak lock , belltech 4" drop , billet grille , clear corners , white face gauges, mac air kit, hypertech chip,a.s.p. underdrive pulley .....

the nitrous kit is pretty complicated , thats why i let a qualified shop do the work for me. they have done all the work for me including the drop.

i usually go to www.wheelspin.net to calculate the hp figures for what i am running , based on the truck weighing 4750 w/out driver and around 4950 w/driver , if these trucks weigh less , let me know . according to this formula , the truck has 243 hp , if you add the 100 hp gain from n20 , it should 14.18-14.19 on a perfect run .... haven't ran it yet though ...keep trying though

The weight might be off

I used to have a 98 2whl drive 5sp reg cab 3.55 V-6 and it topped the local scale around 3900 with me in it so either my local scales are innaccurate or you truck weighs less. Heck my Y2K f150 4x4 5spd 3.55 reg cab v-6 truck weighed in around 4,950 at the same scale .At any rate nice work with the truck.
One more thing, where did you get the mac cold air kit?Don't worry about posting links unless you are a vendor and it is a link to your site.Thanks....
