I recently just replaced the spark plug wires on my 98 4.2 v6. I replaced them one by one so I wouldn't mix any up but I found some diagrams online and it shows different order than mine is. right now they are the same on the passenger side but on the driver side the first one goes to the middle one and the other two are swapped. the truck seems to be running fine, just curious if the order is wrong and if I should change the order of the wires. thanks

 

You have it right. If you didn't, you'd know it, it would be running like crap.

 

The 4.2 has 2 different fireing orders I think.

It's either that or someone is passing around bad information.
