If I stay out of city driving I get 24 mpg. I have many rural roads in my area and use them frequently. If I don't have the chance to use them my average economy is between 18.5 and 19. When I get to use the rural roads more and mix city driving my economy goes to 21-22. If the majority of my driving is rural then my economy is 23-24. If my driving is all rural highways it is high 20's, I haven't done that in a long time, and I don't remember exactly what it was. I've gone on the freeway once or twice (<5 miles each time), so I can't say what freeway mileage is.

Hmmm i'm mostly city (well live in Whitehorse so its not really a city) and i've been getting 14.2 mpg. It was better in the summer on road trip 18-20 mpg, but since the winter came its been brutal mileage... Not really concerned about it but would be nice to be a little better.

I guess the problem with mine is the 3.73 gearing....still love the truck though!

On the way out to NJ we averaged 20 MPG with about 700 miles on the truck NO TRAILER and (2) adults in the truck with an average driving speed of about 67MPH
On the way home we averaged 10.4 MPG with a 6,000 # Airstream trailer and the same two adults. Our average driving speed was 64MPH.

Disappointed in the mileage but the truck started the tow with just over 1,000 miles on it so hopefully it will improve a little.

Now to the towing, NOTHING LIKE IT - PERIOD unless you jump to a diesel. This little V6 Ecoboost flat runs. Pulled every hill in either 6th or 5th gear with no problem. I could and did pull out on a number of hills to pass Semis and could ALWAYS pick up speed.

The truck is a 2011 SuperCrew Platinum Edition with HD Towing and a 6.5' bed. 3.3 Rear End

Love the truck and will obviously put up with the gas mileage.

If anyone is looking or thinking about this truck for towing the Ford YouTube videos are right on. She is a little beast.

Anyone have any questions shoot me an email. Before buying I asked everyone, Ford corporate engineers etc, dealers - many, competing dealers - independant mechanics and I wanted a diesel but my wife drives a diesel school bus and wanted nothing to do with a personal diesel. So after my research I decided on the Ecoboost, could not be more satisfied with the towing ability.

Regards

Bud
Sounds impressive but short of a diesel I think the V-10 wouldn't exactly be a slouch either.

I've had mine for about 15000 miles now and I've had it working hard since I bought it and it's just awesome...I haul a 32ft Prowler Lynx trailer that weighs about 8000lbs and it hauls it with ease! I've hauled this trailer for 1500 miles already and no problems what so ever! Tranny works like a dream when hauling and it barely ever downshifts I can upload a video if you guys want I'm cruising around 60mph can't recall mpg but fair guess was around 11mpg with and fx4 w 3.73 gears! Before buying I tried about every other truck the industry had to offer and NOTHING came close to the EB! Until now it's FLAWLESS!

get about 10 towing my 10k lb boat. Dont matter what you do, when you get above 5000lbs your MPG will suffer. Anywhere from 10-12 is probably the place to be.
