97 f150 staight six will start but not idlle,fuel pump sounds good what next<filter,or vac lines???????

 

any codes being thrown?

 

Does it run with your foot on the go peddle or does it just die soon after starting? If it does no matter if you gassing it or not my guess is ignition but without seeing it or any codes I'm just shooting in the dark.

 

97 Straight 6 ?

 

If it runs with your foot on the pedal, your IAC valve is stuck closed.

If it's a 97, it has a V-6. If you have a I-6, it's a 96 or older.

 

At least he didn't say Slant Six

 

the egr is diaphram is probably stuck open
