Hi Panic,

We love the Magnecor plug wires, they do a great job, and we use them on most of our vehicles here, though none of them is a 4.2 V-6 F-150.

Magnecor plug wires aren't cheap, so if you're looking for a cheaper alternative that will work well, you might want to think about using Accel.

Plug wires for the 4.6 V-8 are all expensive, even the terrible factory plug wires are $150+ for that V-8, you have the extra connectors, etc. required by the 4.6 driving up the cost a bit as well.

Since you have the 4.2 V-6, you might find that the Magnecor wires aren't nearly as expensive for that V-6 as they are for the 4.6 V-8.

Good luck!

Do the new plug wires cause interference in an aftermarket audio system? I want to change the plugs and wires but am afraid that the noise in the stereo will be an issue.

HI Run,

That's an excellent question, and make sure to ask that of your supplier or the manufacturer of the plug wires.

These days, most plug wires except for racing units are suppresion units, so that increased radio noise (hearing the engine rev thru the radio) is not an issue. Just double-check that on the wires you intend to purchase before making the outlay, & your supplier will be able to tell you if they have proper EMF suppression up front.

Good luck!
