drops two cylinders?
Is it true that the 4.2 drops two cylinders while in 5th gear? Does anyone know of any articles concerning this?
Thanks

I really have a hard time believing that the 4.2 drops any cylinders while in 5th gear.If it did we would see excellent gas mileage and as we all know that is not the case.
As far as i know it just goes into a light gear with no power unless you downshift, i never heard of dropping 2 cyls

I think only the chevy 8.1l engine drops cylinders...it runs on the 8-6-4 principle, revived from the 80's...if flopped then but computers got better. I've heard its a killer engine though.
I've read that at least 4 times on this board. Weird!
