I own a 2000 f150 with a 4.6. I am looking at a 97 f150 with v6 and 120000 mi tonight. My question is, what should I be looking for. I know about door cracks and rust, but what about this timing cover leak? Where should I look for this leak at? What else? Thanks for any thoughts.

 

check the stereo....my one and one of my friends tape deck doesnt work..it only plays out of the left side, my cd player works fine as with the radio...just the tape deck sux, maybe its just an isolated problem. Check the wheels to see if they have any dings in them. Make sure the leaf springs in the back are straight, and that the truck is aligned. Check all the lights, as usual. Find out if it got its 100,000 mile service cause if i remmeber correctly it can be a bit costly.
