Question Engine less powerful when warm?

This is probably a stupid question, but my truck feels a lot more powerful when it's cold / warming up than it is after it's been running at normal operating temperature for a while. I also hear the injectors (?) making a lot more noise when I'm giving it gas at normal temperature than when it's cooler. Is this normal??

Thanks, hades281

Do you have a FIPK? What was the outside temp when your engine was first started?

No FIPK installed, and I guess the outside temperature was at least 80 degrees. I run regular 87 octane gas.

your engine feels more powerful because it isnt running in "closed loop" mode when cold, the values for the computer are not excactly reset when started cold, just the air density and operating conditions. the truck actually makes more power when it is warm, you probably dont notice it because you get used to it when warming it up
