Tranny took a dump!
Hey ya'll,
I just wanted let ya know that last week Ford donated a new tranny to my truck. I had 35,630 miles on it when it went. I guess there was a problem with the synchros and some other stuff. I 've been running synthetic fluid for the last 15,000 miles or so...obviously it didn't help. Mysteriously, when i had the shop switch the fluid over to synthetic, they told me my original fluid was fried. Completely burnt. I have no idea what really happened to this thing seeing as how I hardly drive it, and when I do it's not being ragged on. I guess it never was right. Now it shifts great, but, I think i'm trading it in on a new GT Stang in a few months. I am just asking too much from a 6 cyl. powered truck. The warranty is up, and the thought of shelling out a $1000 for another tranny just isn't cool.
I guess I just lost faith.

When it comes to performance cars Get a F-bodie. Way better than new mustang. Ford has way better trucks than gm but when it come to sports cars gm is better in my opinion. I was going to buy camaro ss but insurance could not afford.

The camaro SS or even the z-28 will blow your mind...i've heard talk that the new z-28 can beat a mustang cobra. But The gm cars will give you a real thrown back in your seat feel.

Too bad the GM's don't look as good as the Fords though.

True the GM's are faster but they have poor build quality. Real POS's.

I'd have to agree with Frank S. I'd settle for less power in a vehicle that's gonna last as long as the financing. Don't the new f-bodies come with a full bottle of super glue in the glove box to repair plastic trim pieces that fall off due to rattle?
