Question Under the hood.........

As I watch my odometer near the 50,000 mile mark I am thinking of ways to help my "Sweet Madam Blue"...sorry for the Styx reference...run a little better and a lot longer. I like to hear all of your opions on these type of matters. I want to hear the type of oil and filters you all use. Another thing is the plugs and wires. My dad said to use the Rapidfire plugs, which he said helped a lot with his S-10 Extreme and his Buick Regal as far as gas mileage. Don't judge him on the S-10 thing, he has a '36 Ford truck streetrod in the garage the would have the same effects as Viagra on a person. Please let me know what you all think on these matters as I do value your thoughts. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

The best way that I've learned is just keep up with maintenance. Has always worked for me. I use the Ford Motorcraft filter. A FL-400S with the anti-drainback valve in it. I also use Advance Auto Parts brand oil. It's cheaper but is the same as Havoline and Motorcraft. As far as plugs, I'm kinda funny about going with anything other than stock unless you're talking about a high performance engine. We already have platinum plugs anyway. Hope this helps.
