Angry need new engine

i had the coolant leak fixed at the timing cover. 100 miles later a rod starts playing jack hammer. Found out after work was done that I should have just had the engine replaced because the coolant wa probably leaking into the crankcase for a long time. that's what caused the rod to go. Not sure I want to fork over $3000 for a rebuilt engine. Looking for a used one I can drop in so I can trade it off

Wow 3,000! A new 6.8L V10 crate engine is 3,200.

There was one in the classifieds here a couple of week ago for 1200. Might want to check.

I'd pay a visit back to the servicing dealership, especially if it was done under the recall, as they MIGHT be able to get it covered under related damage.

as a service writer, i can tell you that your not gonna get a new engine from them, now is a good time to have maybe a local shop do it, and replace the old stuff with some new badass performance stuff and have a nice engine to mod up, find a good mechanic, they would be happy to do it, may cost around 3k to 3.5k

ask your dealer to po5 the engine due to damage from the coolant leak you may have to pay like 500 bucks for deductible better than 3 k
