Does any one know if a 3.8 mustang tranny will fit in a 4.2 f150. I know the shifter will be short, but will it bolt up to the bell housing? I asked this under the tranny board yesterday and nobody has answered so I thought I would try here.

You could, but you would need the Mustang bellhousing, flexplate or flywheel/clutch. It defintely will bolt to the engine since the 3.8 and 4.2 blocks are almost identical.
