i just bought an after market tach from
summit. a ford mechanic said that it wouldn't work. i was just wondering if anybody has done this. i have a 2001 f-150 v-6. thanks.

 

He must be a few credentials short of a real Ford Tech. Tap into your stock Tach. lead. #48, it's a white-pink stripe wire coming from your computer. You can intercept it at the instument cluster. You need to just tap it so you can still have your stock tach. It's a little difficult, but all in all it's a three beer deal.
