Gibson Sideswept. Better tone, not much louder. Best for low-end power and towing.

Get the stainless.

If you an do weld work, build it yourself. If not go to a reputable exhaust/performance shop. Get a fabbed x-pipe, a dual in single out FM 40 and exit in the lightning location. You will get a sound that will turn heads(in a good way) and the performance you want, all at a 1/3 of the price of a gibson or borla. I have done extensive testing ON THE DYNO, and found this works best, and by far sounds the best! For a stock look with the performance, I have found that using the stock tail pipe with a cherry bomb glass pack provides the same backpressure/flow as the above exhaust except at the upper RPMS. These are only suggestions, it's your truck.

Hey NOS,

For the setup with the x-pipe, what size pipe would you use, 2.5"?

When It came time for me to get an exhaust I basically wanted to get something to make my V-6 manual A)Sound like a V-8 and B)add a little performance.
After shopping around this one guy recommended the SpinTech Muffler. This is the same muffler that alot of the sprint cars run.
It is a good blend of sound and performance. Everyone assumes that it's a V-8 and are surprised when I tell them it's a 6. Also When then truck is at Idle it's more of a deep low pitched tone not a loud low pitched tone. It does get a tad whiny at 3500 Rpm but hey it is a 6 cylinder after all. Performance wise the difference is noticable. I noticed it the second I got on it, I was surprised by it. By the way, I burned (well barely beat) my friend who has a Dodge Ram with a 5.2 V-8 auto, flowmasters, and a K&N. Of course he has no back pressure in the damn thing so it sounds good but goes no where and his truck is heavier. Anyway you can check out a review of spintech here http://www.off-road.com/ford/flashba...tech/spin.html
Mind you I believe they tested it on a V-8 but it will give you an idea because I was very unfamiliar with the exhaust when I purchased it. But I love it
